This extremely beautiful and highly collectable gents Rolex Oyster Precision is in near collector condition with only the smallest signs of wear. This classic gents watch features a solid stainless steel case and a fine, high grade 17 jewel Rolex signed Swiss movement. The original Rolex signed and crown marked ivory white dial has been professionally refinished to the highest possible standards and is breathtakingly elegant with the fine gold arabic numbers and perfect gold with ivory white inlay hands. The highly polished case is simply beautiful with the original Rolex signed screw down winding crown and faultless caseback. This is a simply stunning example of this iconic watch. I have added a new, high quality dark black crocodile skin strap with a steel after market Rolex buckle. I have used an authentic Rolex box from the 1980′s in the pictures and whilst I supply a high quality box as part of the price I do sell these later boxes for £100 or £50 if bought with a watch.

My asking price is below the value for a watch of this condition and rarity, particularly with the continual rise in value of vintage watches of this high quality. This watch has been fully serviced by my watch maker and in view of the high grade Swiss movement, I will include a three month written guarantee on the movement, which is long enough for you to assess the working order. Also, I offer a full refund if you are not entirely happy, as long as the watch is returned within seven days for the UK, twelve days if overseas, in the same condition.

The Case

The crisp, highly polished solid stainless steel screw down case is in excellent condition with only the smallest signs of wear. The case measures 33mm wide, excluding the rare original ‘Rolex’ signed winding crown and 40mm, including the lugs. The inside back is signed ‘Montres Rolex SA Geneve Switzerland Patented Stainless Steel’, and the case number of ’6422′. It also has the date ’1V.56’ dating it to quarter 4 1956.

The Dial

The original Rolex signed and ‘Rolex Crown’ dial is in excellent condition and has been professionally refinished to the highest possible standards. The perfectly straight hands and gold arabic hour numbers and minute markers are as crisp as the day it was made. I’ve taken the picture on an overcast day and will try and re-take them when it’s sunny as I’m struggling to capture the beautiful gold numbers, hands and Rolex Crown. It is signed ‘Rolex Oyster Precision’ and ‘Swiss’. The lens shows no signs of wear or scratching.

The Movement

The original Rolex signed high-grade movement is in crisp, very clean condition. The movement has just been cleaned and oiled by a professional watchmaker and is in excellent working order. It is signed ‘Montres Rolex SA Geneva Swiss’ and ‘Seventeen 17 Jewels’. The movement number is N61916.

The Strap

As mentioned, I have added a new, high quality black crocodile skin strap and matching steel after market Rolex buckle

The Conclusion

This is an extremely rare and highly collectible vintage watch from one of horology’s most famous names and will, if history is any judge, provide an excellent financial investment as well as a possession to treasure and enjoy. If this was bought in a Bond Street or Burlington Arcade dealer it would be in excess of £4,000 – please feel free to check. I will provide an insurance valuation in excess of my asking price. Please appreciate the difficulty of photographing this piece, it looks far better in real life. Subject to your location I’ll happily show the watch. I’m happy for this watch to be authenticated if required. Please ring me if you have any questions: Chris 07917 100927
